Back Garden Beasts

Not for the feint hearted, Chris Andrews presented an entertaining talk on the types of ‘Beasts’ that can be found in your back garden using an excellent series of photographs. There are ‘good’ beasts and ‘bad’ beasts for your garden, and Chris describes ways of encouraging the good guys in favour of the bad, by using natural habitats in the garden to encourage them. Some you can buy such as hedgehog shelters some you can simply make using tilted terracotta plant pots and wood such as bunched canes to provide sheltered accommodation.

Chris works at Frampton Marsh nature reserve near Boston and the Society will organise a trip there later in the year.
