Trinity College Gardens & Cambridge Botanic gardens

Colin ably assisted by his wife Karen took us through a virtual tour of the Trinity College and Cambridge Botanic gardens. Originally set up in the reign of Henry VIII the gardens and glasshouses make up an area of 40 acres and exhibit some rare wonders such as an apple tree claimed to be descendant of the original tree from which Newton discovered the theory of gravity. The gardens were opened to the public in 1846 and offer all year interest to visitors who can choose from a number of seasonal trails to explore.
