Annual Trip - RHS Harlow Carr

The coach left Glinton at it’s scheduled time to RHS Harlow Carr in Harrogate, what was harder to schedule was the lovely summer weather we were to enjoy that day with the temperature in the high twenties.

Harlow Carr is over 150 acres in size so it is used to receiving large numbers of visitors and is well organised - their representative was waiting to greet us on arrival to give us information before we left the coach to enter the garden. This is a garden for all ages and very family friendly with plenty of things for children to do.

The site boasts two Betty’s Teashops (one at the entrance and one in the garden) and on the day of our visit the annual Sweet Pea growing competition had taken place with the exhibits for all to see.

There is a large “kitchen garden” and other themed spaces within the grounds including Grecian columns and a large log maze, which fortunately did not entrap any members this year unlike the Hampton Court Maze drama of 2011.

A big thank you to all who came along.
