Taking the biscuit


David Marrington, who had worked for Baker Perkins for many years gave a fascinating presentation about what we all keep in tins in our home: THE BISCUIT !


Created as long ago as the Persian empire the biscuit soon found favour by armies and sailors alike, as a portable and longer lasting alternative to bread.


The biscuit has greatly evolved from then and is now capable of being produced by machines making 52 biscuits per second, yet it still remains an unsung hero of the craft which produced it...


David explained why.
